So in conclusion I had a really fun time with this project. I learned a few new recipes and it was really nice. I learned that egg drop soup is very easy to make but hard to master and make the perfect egg noodles. I had the most fun making the brownies and I through doing this I ended up finding the best brownie recipe I’ve ever made. They were very fudgy and turned out really good!! Even after this I will continue my cooking adventures and I plan to make homemade pop tarts in the future- 🙂
Let’s be real, I’m a mediocre cook. Scratch that, not mediocre, terrible. Even with boxed foods I mess up. I didn’t improve at all which is okay. I enjoyed this experiment because I got to eat a lot and so did my parents. My favorite thing I made was the brownies because I love brownies. Who cares if I’m not a good cook, takeout is always an option.
This egg drop soup recipe was SO easy. Like it was almost too simple for me to make. It’s one of those things that seems to easy to make but then when you’re making it, you realize there’s a method to making it. The recipe called for chicken broth, eggs, mushrooms, green onions, pepper, salt, food coloring (yellow), soy sauce, sesame oil, water, and cornstarch. I followed all of the directions and mine turned out pretty good to be honest. If i had to improve on something i would definitely try to make the eggs more “whole.” like they do in chinese restaurants it’s a very flowy texture and look. mine looks a little crumbled but it tasted very good.
I made boxed egg drop soup. I went to my local Asian food store in my city and luckily found a boxed egg drop soup. It’s nothing really exciting. You literally make it just like you would ramen noodles. It wasn’t that good tasting if I’m being quite honest, but I also don’t like chicken broth. I wasn’t a fan of this especially since I payed about $4 for it. I wouldn’t make it again, but I’m also a terrible cook, even with boxed items.
I didn’t go all out on my mac and cheese like i normally would but it still turned out very good. i started out with some pasta and cooked it. then i made a rue and added cream, cheese, and assorted spices and extra flavorings. if i was going all out like i usually would i would start with a rue and add the cream, garlic salt, onion cheese, and multiple different kinds of cheese until it was thick and stringy. then you get out a baking pan and put it in there, then top it off with more cheese and some french fried onions and bake for 45 minutes at 400 degrees.
I took Mac and cheese to a whole new level of lazy. Instead of making boxed Mac and cheese, I made it from the microwaveable cups. I don’t have a picture of it because it completely slipped my mind and it was gone in about 5 seconds, but I can say, it tasted pretty decent. You can buy these in packs of 4 for about $3 and all you do it put water in it, microwave it, and then add the cheese powder. For these being so cheap, they’re actually one of my favorite ways to eat Mac and cheese because I despise cooking. These are great if you don’t have the time to cool.
so i forgot to take a picture of them because they didn’t last very long in our house but anyway i got the recipe from my mom since her mom used to make her when she was a kid and they are these grape nut muffins and they are supposed to be pretty healthy and s0 good. anyway they turned out very well and they were delicious. i hadn’t had grape nut muffins since i was really young so it was nice to have those again.
Hey everyone. I just made some bagged muffin mix. It was blueberry and all you had to do was add a half a cup of milk and mix it. I put it in the oven in some muffin tins but I didn’t have cupcake liners. I used wax paper though and it turned out just fine. I didn’t really like the taste of them that much just because I’m not a huge fan of muffins but my parents really enjoyed them! 10/10 would make again because they were only a dollar.
sooooo i thought i’d try something i’ve never done before and poach an egg. it’s something i’ve always wanted to do and it looked pretty easy. i researched methods on how to make poached eggs and i even wrote down a recipe. but when i went to actually make the egg i didn’t even look at what i wrote down and i just did it from my memory. i got out the water and had it simmering while i stirred a whirlpool of and dropped the egg in. it held together very well and i even kept it in there a few minutes but when i took it out, the white part of the egg was still raw so it was unsuccessful but if i would have cooked it longer it would use turned out so much better.
Hey guys, I veered away from boxed goods and decided to do some easy poached eggs except… they weren’t that easy. I watched a video on how to make them and did exactly as that video said, but they still turned out terrible. The video didn’t tell me I was supposed to stir the water so the white would spin around the yolks but when I asked my friends about it, that’s what they said to do. I think that is where I went wrong. I poached them for three minutes and they were still very runny so obviously I didn’t get to eat them. I will keep trying this until I perfect egg poaching but for now, this is where I’m at. I didn’t know it was so easy to botch a poached egg but I guess it is.
